Josh is one of those guitarists that is fluid, lyrical, and has that "Let's do it!" spirit. A widely respected session player and Blues monster, Josh Smith is also pushing the limits of the guitar itself.
After a year of racking my brain to make the right set with the right tension to match the diameters he's been using (13-56) I finally figured out the perfect formulation. This set features his monster .026" plain G. This is an extremely rare choice in the world of guitar playing, especially when it comes to bending. So based on his preference for 13-17-26 treble schedule, I came up with some very old school solutions for his basses. We finalized the set with a schedule of basses that end with a 58.25 low E.
